Bathhouse

The bathhouse (富士の湯 , fujinoyu) ? Is a location and mechanic in persona 5.

Profile edit

The bathhouse becomes accessible once the protagonist reads the book "yoncha wanderer," which unlocks both the bathhouse and the batting cage upon finishing. The protagonist can find it when he cleans his room in café leblanc.

The protagonist is able to visit the public bathhouse in yongen-jaya during the night, and bathe for 2 points of charm by default. Mondays and thursdays grant a special medicinal bath that allow for an additional point of charm.

If the bathhouse is visited during rainy weather, the public bathhouse will be mostly empty, giving the protagonist the choice on whether to prolong his stay or not. If he chooses to stay, there's a chance he will be able to gain an additional point of charm. However, if that chance fails, he will get dizzy and pass out on the floor: he will lose the entirety of his charm score, giving him a single point of guts in its place. If he decides not to prolong his stay, he will always gain the default 2 points of charm.

In the case the protagonist visits on a rainy monday or thursday, the rainy day scenario will become null, and he will earn bonus charm as if it's a normal monday or thursday.

Persona 5 royal edit

In persona 5 royal, the special medicinal bath has been moved to sundays only. Additionally, if the weather warning "cold wave" is in effect, the same rainy day scenario will be played. Cold waves do not occur on sunday. Not to be mistaken with snowy weather.

Batting cage is a minigame in persona 5.

The batting cage needs to be unlocked by reading the single-chapter book "yoncha wanderer", which unlocks the location alongside the bathhouse upon finishing. The protagonist automatically finds the book when he cleans his room.

The batting cages can be accessed by talking to the middle-aged receptionist in his shop in yongen-jaya. There, the protagonist will be able to play baseball, boost their proficiency stat and obtain rewards for performing well.

The protagonist will be able to select from one of three difficulty courses: beginner, intermediate and advanced. In addition, each course has varying fees: the harder the course, the higher the price.

Inside the minigame, the protagonist can swing their bat and reposition it. They are given 5 baseballs per course, and will be given 5 attempts to make a successful hit, which involves swinging their bat at the right time. The course the protagonist has chosen will tweak the ball speed, increasing it for higher difficulties.

In addition to landing a hit, if the ball lands on the target, it'll be considered a homerun. The position of the bat is important, and it's recommended that its red silhouette doesn't cover the entire ball, but rather just the bottom half.

A seemingly important aspect of the batting cages involves buying and reading a book called "batting science." when the protagonist finishes the book, they will gain access to the "third eye" ability in the batting cages. That way, they'll be able to focus, which slows time in-game. This allows them to easily land a hit. In addition, the coloration of the ball helps with their timing as well: once it becomes purple, the protagonist should swing their bat. The window for accessing the "third eye" becomes available once the next ball is shot out of the pitcher machine, indicated by the sound it makes.

If the protagonist hits 5 homeruns or didn't miss a single hit within a session, they will be given a prize. The prizes vary depending on the level of difficulty.

Persona 5 royal edit

In persona 5 royal, the difficulty courses have been greatly expanded: the initial advanced course has been reduced to 110 km/h and its price has been reduced to ¥1,500. However, three new courses with much higher speeds have been added.

There are 34 books in persona 5 that provide a variety of benefits to you once they're read. Some books allow an increase to one of your stats. Others unlock various locations while the remaining books give you an ability related to one of your activities. Reading all of them unlocks the bookworm trophy.

What helps speed up the process is auto-reading books. Auto-reading means that if you are reading a book about a location that you already went to, you can instantly finish reading that book once selected. That allows you to read another book instead without losing time. This only applies to books about destinations.

Jinbocho

Jinbocho is unlocked either by reading musty pages or by ranking up the star confidant. You can only buy one book at a time and you can only buy the next book when you've finished reading the previous book.

How to make the most of your reading time

Start by going after the library books since you'll need to complete them first. You won't be able to access the library after

So finish the library's 8 books before that deadline passes (or at least finish 7 and get the last book you need on that date).

Train rides

The best time to read a book is on the train ride to school. You can read on the train on the following dates:

4/20, 4/25, 4/30, 5/21, 5/24, 5/30, 6/3, 6/15, 6/23, 7/1, 7/4, 7/8, 9/24, 9/28, 10/6, 11/2, 11/5, 11/10, 11/14, 11/17.

Kawakami's free time

If you get the temperance confidant up to rank 5 (1 for the first day), kawakami will allow you to slack off in class on specific dates which gives you time to read. This occurs on these specific dates:

6/3, 7/2, 7/6, 9/23, 9/30, 10/5, 10/31, 11/5, 11/11, 11/16.

Get the star confidant to rank 4

The star confidant hifumi togo can be accessed starting from 6/26 during the evenings at the kanda church if you have rank 3 charm. The reason why this is good for reading is that the jinbocho book store is the only store that can't be accessed automatically throughout the game and the book that unlocks it is called musty pages which isn't available until 9/1. However, hifumi will take you to that book store when you reach rank 4 of her confidant which will allow you to buy the books there much earlier.

If you're nowhere close to getting to rank 4, makoto will invite you to jinbocho on 8/15 so accept that invitation.

Persona 5 guide: how to find and read all books

Persona 5 allows the player to perform a variety of activities. There are mini games like the fishing mini game, or playing video games and even a batting mini game. These are all good for some spending some time in the game’s world and they provide additional skills on top of it.

Reading is an important aspect in persona 5 since not only it will unlock new skills or improve some of the social stats, it is also provides short cut to achieving some tasks like unlocking fishing and catching legendary fish.

How to find and read all books in persona 5

There are various way to read books in persona 5. You can find them through the side missions, go to a library to read them, or buy them from the book store. To read them, you can also spend some time reading them during the following specific dates, when you manage to sit in a train on your way to school: 4/20, 4/25, 4/30, 5/21, 5/24, 5/30, 6/3, 6/15, 6/23, 7/1, 7/4, 7/8, 9/24, 9/28, 10/6, 11/2, 11/5, 11/10, 11/14, 11/17. This will allow you to read a section of book without skipping time.

The full list of books and where to find them can be seen in the table below. The first book is obtained free during a story event so you can’t really miss it.

You can read the books faster by unlocking the skill ‘speed reading’ which require you to read the books in the following order: master swordsman, call me chief, and reckless casanova. Some of the books available in the list above require specific requirements in order to be available, for example the fishing book won’t be available until the mini game is unlocked.

Persona 5 will be released on april 4th for the PS3 and PS4.

There are 34 books to read. Most are bought, others borrowed from the library, plus three earned from requests completed in mementos. Not all bookstores will have their full inventory at the beginning of the game; more are added when certain dates are passed or requirements are met. After the following paragraphs, a full list of books and their locations will be given.

There are a few pieces of advice to give you if you are not following the spreadsheet. Note that 11/17 is the last day to get a book from the shujin academy library due to story happenings until 12/22. Also, read all the books in jinbocho as soon as possible, as the last one is called speed reading, and as the title suggests, it’ll double the amount you read in one sitting. Finally, as stated in my backyard, reading the books associated with a location, after the location has already been found, will not spend time. Because of this, save the location books for last as that will save time.

As always with these trophies, these books are covered in the spreadsheet, so continue to follow that if you are following the roadmap. The list of books, with page amounts, is as follows:
